Words that are repeated:

Thai often uses repeated words. This can be for emphasis, to stress quantity, etc. For example, the English word big. To stress the word big, one might say really big.
(or big big?)

In Thai, the punctuation mark is used at the end of the word, and it just indicates that the word is repeated. Beyond that it doesn't have an actual meaning. In our vocabulary for this lesson, the word ช้า, which means slow is repeated to mean slowly, slower by adding the mark: ช้าๆ.
